I guess i should talk about what the zone leader does. I basically just get to welcome the new missionaries in the zone to the MTC, get to take them on a tour and get to give them the good news of they get to write a letter home to their family that night! I'm actually pretty pumped about that, because that was my favorite experience when i first got here. Its nice to have had some one be able just to talk to us like we were people instead of Letter to The Law Missionaries, which is important but that first day you just need someone to look at you and tell you that its going to be hard, but you got God on your side every step of the way, and that they can always come to me if they need help/advice. this week there are going to be 770 new missionaries.... that's insane hahaha so cool though God is hastening his work sooooo cooooooool
Its weird saying that i will be giving advice! WHAT DO I KNOW! i have only been here for 2 weeks yet i feel like im a vetern of the MTC hahaha, i still have loads of questions that havent gotten answered, but hey i will do my best right?
You know i just realized that i say my companions names and stuff like that but you guys dont really know who they are, Well i guess i will first start off with the Elders of my district. There is Elder Knowlton who is my companion currently in the MTC, He is from new hamspire, he is 18 fresh out of high school and is literally and spiritual well of knowledge and awesomeness, i look up to the guy. He has pulled me out of some sticky situations with teaching, Then there is Elder Burdett he is our district leader, He is from Alberta Canada, he is 20, He is SUPER chill, probably one of my favorites in the MTC we get along really well, he gets frustrated at his companion a lot though, they are polar opposites and to be frank i don't like his companion either, i know i shouldn't say that but he drives me up the wall. His companion is Elder Connelly, he is 18, he is also fresh out of high school, only child, COCKY, very prideful about his winning of wrestling nationals two times in a row, HE TELLS EVERYONE, it bothers me but i love him i really do. He breaks a lot of rules, but if he were to be exactly obedient he would be SUCH and amazing missionary, he has some awesome thoughts he just, doesn't have a filter hahaha. he says some interesting things, i just have to love him and get over it right? I'm not going to explain the sisters just because there are so many and i would spend waaaaaaaaayyyy to much time explaining about who they are and how much i love each and everyone of them. They really are amazing.
Anyway let me explain some of the LARGE events that happened this week, I cracked my screen, yupp as soon as it happened i heard my parents yelling at me ;) (love you guys ;) ) I was going to sit down because we were standing while doing a workshop of sorts, i went to sit down and the sister behind me tripped and bumped me. My tablet fell out of my hands and hit the floor face down. My heart dropped, she gasped and immediately started apologizing i told her its OK and say "Its Schrodinger's Tablet, it is neither broken nor unbroken until it is observed thus it is Broken yet Unbroken at the same time." For those who doesn't know what that means, just know I'm a nerd and its a chemistry joke. i know I'm a sad human ;) Any who i slowly picked it up and looked at it. It was cracked....... upon further inspection i realized it was just the screen protector which was a blessing in its self so I'm not too worried. that can be fixed. Doesn't mean I'm not mad about it. Everyone in the district knows its a sore subject hahaha so parents if you are reading this email as well as the one i sent you individually, i need a new screen protector hahahah. help me.
Thank all of you for your emails of love and support i loved them all and most of them brought me to tears. Thank you so much for supporting me in my decision to serve a mission. i love you all!!! keep sending me stories of whats happening in your lives it helps me get through the week. thanks guys!
HAPPY FATHERS DAY!! Oh man it was so hard not being able to say happy fathers day to my Dad and my grandpa. It was hard really hard, I love them both so much. And i want to be like them. Like 100% wish i was exactly like my dad and grandpa they are both amazing men who are worthy priesthood holders who love their wives, who work hard and aren't afraid to get dirty. They are handymen and patriarchs. I love them both so much. Happy fathers day guys!
